Overview
This year, the Green Ocean Forum 2009 set a timely agenda under the theme of Catch a Chance in Climate Neutral: Smart Grid. On November 25, Participants especially from smart grid will gather at COEX Convention Center, Seoul, Korea for the in-depth discussions for today¡¯s one of the hottest green ocean issues.
This one day intensive green ocean forum is expecting around 600 participants this year and scheduled to provide valuable learning opportunities which extend their expectations.

Green ocean is a conclusive campaign which is suggested by the Electronic Times addressing deep rooted and world wide environmental problems, achieving sustainable development and creating new business opportunity. To obtain this goal, innovation in energy industry is indispensable. In this regard, Green Ocean Forum designates its main discussion subject for this year as Smart Grid.

Smart grid means an electrical-power grid using digital technology that enables suppliers and consumers to exchange real-time electricity consumption information. Promoting this innovative grid system is expected to address energy efficiency, energy independence from fossil fuel and environmental problems including global warming. In this sense, Smart grid plays a critical role in green ocean campaign.

From this year, the Green Ocean Forum will follow the principle of Green Meeting? which incorporates environmental considerations throughout all stages of the meeting process in order to minimize the negative impact on the environment and make a positive impact to host communities in terms of environmental and social legacies. Furthermore, the Green Ocean Forum will aim at the Carbon Zero Forum by implementing carbon off-set program.
